We love our Volunteers!
Not everyone will ride or run 200 miles. But we still need your help!
It is no small feat to safely get our riders and runners across the state of Iowa. It takes an army of volunteers who are willing to help. Here are the type of volunteers we need.
Pre-Ride Meal Support
Volunteers for the pre-ride meal are so important for this event both in setting it up and cleaning up afterwards. Your contribution helps the participants get much needed rest the night before they ride.
Setup Crew – Arrive at 5:30pm to start setting up the food tables, arranging chairs, and organizing the food as it comes in. Coordinate food, drinks, and tableware prior to the event.
Clean up Crew – Wipe down tables, sweep floors, wipe down glass at the play area, clean up bathrooms, and empty trash into the dumpsters.
Drivers – Arrive at the start point by 4:45am day of the event. Drive alongside the riders the entire 200 miles to provide support / safety during the ride. Every 25 miles we will stop for a break and the support crew will set up nutrition for when the riders arrive, then clean up / catch up when the stop is done. You may also be asked to drive people home on Friday night or Saturday if possible.
Ride Support – Arrive 4:45am day of the event. Ride in a support vehicle and help the driver with navigation support and set up nutrition and hydration for riders every 25miles. See the driver description for more details.
